About Us
John has had a passion for writing and traveling for as long as he can remember. His parents took him from coast to coast as much as they could when he was younger; since he was a child, he’s always looked for a reason to get away.
In college, he studied journalism and served as the Vice President of the Public Relations Student Society of America for the UNT chapter. It was there he learned of his love for writing and documenting his experiences. His move to California (and later, Colorado) showed him just how big the world really is and how he could share his experiences with everyone back home.
When he and Victoria started dating, they discovered their desires to see the world and travel as much as possible. Just six months into their relationship, they took off and backpacked Europe for almost two months together. The need to truly document the adventure led to starting TwoMixers, which derives from their background as long time bartenders.
John encourages anyone and everyone who’s interested on collaborating on reaching out. Even if it’s just to ask about our experiences or playing a game together.
Victoria has dedicated her life to trying new things. She spent most of her childhood buried in books or exploring the outdoors with her father. Most summers were spent fishing and camping; winters were dedicated to games, art, and learning.
After high school, she moved to Dallas to attend college; receiving degrees in ancient history and psychology. Once she graduated, she got a Master’s in Counseling, focusing on expressive arts. During this time, she worked with a research team that helped her tap into her writing skills.
That’s when she met John. Immediately, they recognized they had the same dreams, the same passions, the same goals. Within six months, they were packing everything they owned to travel. By the time John proposed two years later, they visited six countries and seven U.S. cities.
Since then, they had a breathtaking European wedding, adopted an incredible dog, and moved to the Netherlands. They started TwoMixers to document their adventures in the hopes that even a single word would enliven others to go somewhere new and try something daring.

Iggy Iggy Smalls has been breaking hearts since Oct. ’14. A beautiful Jack Russel terrier mix, he was born in Austin and has been traveling every since! He’s timid and shy but loves to go with us everywhere. As long as he’s near his parents, he’s good to go. He packed up his little house to follow us to Europe; you can see him enjoying the endless parks in Amsterdam.
His main hobbies include cuddling, playing with his collection of too many toys, and running as fast as possible until it’s time for more cuddles.
